Mavens
A movement for the 
communications industry
Mavens is an independent publication to champion women working in Australian advertising and media, founded and edited by Leah.

She has raised over $95k in partnerships to fund the project to date, and printed two issues of the magazine. Each had their own launch event (100+ pax) which she planned, curated and hosted while also working full-time.

Not only has the project helped spur other industry initiatives like shEqual, Assisterhood, The Aunties, Fck The Cupcakes and Mums in Ads (all of which Mavens has collaborated with), it has given Leah a mouthpiece to share her views and demand better outcomes for women ads via panels, podcasts and trade press including Campaign Brief, Mumbrella, AdWeek and Gabberish.

Mavens has also raised Leah’s industry profile, seeing her invited to judge AWARD School and The Gerety Awards (and host its APAC panel discussion).

Leah is currently working on the first season of Mavens’ new podcast which will feature a host of esteemed industry guests.
